It’s primary day in a handful of states, including South Carolina. Among the notable races: Former House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is backing a Republican challenger to Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) in the state’s 1st Congressional District. Mace is among the eight Republicans who voted to oust McCarthy from his leadership role last year.
