President Biden is heading to Syracuse, N.Y., on Thursday to tout up to $6.1 billion in federal grants to Micron Technology, part of an ongoing effort to bolster the nation’s supply of semiconductors. The funding is the result of the bipartisan Chips and Science Act passed in 2022, which Biden is highlighting ahead of November’s general election against former president Donald Trump.
