Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.) is trying to topple Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), while Charlie Crist, the former Republican governor turned Democratic congressman, is trying to unseat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). Elsewhere, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) appeared at a campaign event for a Democrat, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), for the first time, saying that after investigating the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, she knows firsthand that “every individual matters.”
