Roughly three hours before a potential government shutdown, the Senate passed a bill that will keep the government open until mid-November at current spending levels.
The bill came from the House, where Republicans and Democrats reached a deal on Saturday afternoon on this new continuing resolution. The bill also adds money for U.S. disaster relief but none of the billions of dollars for Ukraine that the White House has sought.
